Do I have to pay before I can use it?

No. The whole app opens in full for seven days - every feature, no limits, and no card asked for at any point in those seven days.

Nothing is charged at the end of it unless you asked for it. There is no auto-charge to cancel and nothing to unsubscribe from.
If the trial earns its keep, you pay when you are ready - not before.
If you decide not to continue, everything you saved stays exactly as it is. Nothing is deleted and nothing is held back.
The app does not disappear. It goes read-only, so you can still look, print and export; only saving new work stops.
